Mourinho praises Porto as best group of players he's coached

FC Porto was the best group of players he's coached, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho said.
"My best team was FC Porto," Mourinho was quoted as saying in Monday's O Jogo sports daily. "I don't recall seeing a team defend so well."
Mourinho coached Porto from 2002 to 2004.
"They won the UEFA Cup (in 2003), the Champions League (2004), made up 50 percent of the Portugal team which was the vice champion of Europe and a semifinalist in the World Cup," Mourinho said. "It was a group of players which went from nothing to the moon."
Mourinho moved to Chelsea after Porto, and the two teams will play each other in the first knockout round of the Champions League in February.
"If you ask me if the Chelsea of today is superior (to Porto) I will say yes but, in terms of team concept, the one I took more pleasure in building was the one that brought me the first (Portuguese) championship and the UEFA Cup," Mourinho said.
Chelsea had everything it needed to succeed in England and in international competitions, Mourinho added.
"Chelsea is the best to succeed in the (English) Premier League. We won two championships and are in a third year where, without wanting to lose the characteristics that made us win in England, we intend to do something more at a European level," he said.
Chelsea is second in the Premier League, two points behind Manchester United.
