CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) — An 18-year-old suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of a St. Louis County woman who was killed in front of her three young children.
Porsha Owens was shot Monday as she led her children to her car to take them to day care. She worked as a school safety officer in a nearby school district.
St. Louis County police have not released the name of the suspect, and formal charges have not yet been filed.
Her three children who witnessed the attack are aged 3 to 8 years. They were unhurt.
Police say Owens was the victim of a failed carjacking. The gunman demanded her keys and money, but couldn't start the vehicle and ran away.
