NEW YORK (AP) — Before he became the funny and silly host of "The Galloping Gourmet" on TV, Graham Kerr had a very serious cookbook.
"The Graham Kerr Cookbook" is being republished this spring, featuring Kerr's clear and concise methods for everything from carving chicken to poaching fish.
Kerr says much of it has stood the test of time. The 84-year-old says the fatty ingredients of the past can change and yet the recipes work just as well today as it did 52 years ago.
He teaches basic preparations for things like sauces and meats and then offers readers ways of building on them.
The reissue includes new archive photos — including remarkably small-looking chickens by our standard today — and charming handwritten commentary from Kerr.
