President Chen planning to move to Kaohsiung

President Chen Shui-bian has openly announced that he and his family would move to Kaohsiung City if Chen Chu, who was running for the post of Kaohsiung City mayor as the ruling Democratic Progressive Party’s candidate, were elected mayor of the city. When asked about the matter, Lee Nan-yang, director of public affairs for the Presidential Office, said it was under planning right now.

When attending a conference organized by the Democratic Pacific Union, Lee was asked if President Chen was looking for a house in Kaohsiung City. He replied, “It is under planning now. The president has said it very clearly.”

Lee didn't want to comment on whether first lady Wu Shu-chen would move to Kaohsiung City with the president.
