Porto beats Benfica with late goal to go top in Portugal

LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Midfielder Hector Herrera scored in the 90th minute to snatch a 1-0 win for FC Porto over Benfica on Sunday as it replaced its title rival at the top of the Portuguese league.

The win lifted Porto two points ahead of Benfica, whose four-year run as domestic champion is now in danger of ending with only four rounds left.

Benfica was heading to a draw that would have kept it top until Herrera's long strike stunned the hosts.
