MONACO (AP) — Marseille's key players rescued the team near the end, with Dimitri Payet setting up the equalizer and Florian Thauvin grabbing the winner in a 3-2 win at Troyes on Sunday.
Marseille moved level on points with Lyon in the race for third place and a playoff spot for next season's Champions League. Lyon leads fourth-place Marseille on goal difference with five games remaining.
Both teams are four points behind Monaco, which is at runaway league leader Paris Saint-Germain later Sunday. PSG can clinch the title with a win.
Marseille, which reached the Europa League semifinals on Thursday thanks to a masterful midfield display from Payet, made an awful start.
Striker Samuel Grandsir put Troyes ahead in the first minute and, after forward Clinton N'Jie equalized in the 11th, struggling Troyes regained the lead through 41-year-old midfielder Benjamin Nivet shortly after the break.
Then Payet set up Greece striker Kostas Mitroglou in the 75th and Thauvin volleyed home left back Jordan Amavi's cross in the 86th. It was the right winger's 17th league goal of an outstanding season and one of his most valuable.
Troyes is in 19th place.
Lyon won 3-0 at home to Amiens on Saturday for a fifth straight league win.
Bordeaux took advantage of some usually sloppy defending to win 3-1 at Montpellier.
Montpellier has the second-best defense in the league but fell behind to Denmark forward Martin Braithwaite's ninth-minute goal.
Forward Francois Kamano and midfielder Soualiho Meite netted after the break, before Ellyes Skhiri got a late consolation.
Montpellier is in seventh place while coach Gus Poyet's Bordeaux side is 10th.
