TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — An international panel of seven judges crowned the winner of Taiwan's most elite fashion award, the Taiwan Fashion Design Award (TFDA), Friday afternoon at the 2017 Taipei IN Style Trade Show (TIS).
Seven judges from Italy, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan judged twelve of most elite domestic and international designers for this award.
Po Sheng-peng's (彭柏碩) Sūdra Ambush collection won the 2017 Taiwan Fashion Design Award.
Po's collection is inspired by the 'pessimistic world view' that video games entertain. The blues, blacks, and tans of each garment piece together an uncomfortable yet inspiring ensemble of reality. Models walked to discordant video game sounds.
Po's painted conical hat look opened and closed this collection.
The grand prize took home $10,000.
Each second place recipient received US$5000.
Lai Yu-chang's (賴佑昌) collection, To My Little Iron Man, is lush with metallic colors, cuts, and accompanying sounds.
Yuan Xuan-liang's (楊舜量) post apocalyptic feeling collection also graces TIS for second place.
Each of the following prize winners received NT$3,000 prize money for their excellent work.
