TAIPEI (Taiwan News) -- The Taipei OEC Open welcomes the world's top tennis seeds, including ex-world number 5 Sara Errani and "Comeback Kid" Belinda Bencic.
Sara Errani entered the French Open women's singles final and has clinched nine career WTA singles championship titles. But it is in women's doubles where she has shined most brilliantly, with five Grand Slam doubles, including two consecutive Australian Open championships with her partner Roberta Vinci.
However, in Feb., Errani tested positive for the banned substance letrozole and was suspended from the sport until Oct. 2 2017.
Swiss tennis player Belinda Bencic set up a clash against Taiwanese No.4 seed Hsieh Su-Wei in the finals of the EA Hua Hin Championship, a WTA 125K event held in Thailand. Bencic, who eventually won the title and the OEC Open, has received a wild card to compete in this tournament.
The OEC Open will be held from Nov. 12 to Nov. 19 at the Taipei Arena.
