TAIPEI (Taiwan News)--With the double holidays of Mid-Autumn Festival and the Double Ten Day being just around the corner, Taipei’s Hydraulic Engineering Office (HEO) encourages members of the public to appreciate the flower spectacle at Taipei’s Dajia Riverside Park (大佳河濱公園) during the holidays.

HEO said that it deployed 700,000 pots of plants at the park during the 2017 Taipei Universiade as part of the effort to beautify the surrounding landscape. An additional 100,000 units of plants – consisting of varieties of angelonia, zinnia, celosia, and other summer flowers – were planted two or three weeks after the Universiade to form vibrant color bands complementing the main sea of flowers at Dajia Riverside Park, according to HEO. Spanning an area of 3,000 square meters, the sea of flowers is expected to remain in full bloom until mid-October, HEO said.
