Indonesian shares end lower on selling in Telkom, Gas Negara

Indonesian share fell 0.1 percent Thursday on selling in heavyweight Telkom and Gas Negara and traders said selling pressure might continue due to absence of fresh lead.
The Jakarta Stock Exchange Composite index closed 1.311 points lower to end at 1,704.130 in a trading where gainers led losers 78 to 68 with 70 stocks unchanged.
"The main index took a brake after recent sharp rally." a trader said, referring to the Thursday's ascending that led it to exceed the 1,700 point mark.
Gas distributor Gas Negara closed off 3.2 percent to 10,650 rupiah on news it may incur less US$6 million (euro4.66 million) in revenue potential losses from gas explosion, while Telkom down 1 percent to 9,600 rupiah on profit taking.
Meanwhile, the local currency rupiah, ended steady against U.S. dollar, which closed at 9,133 rupiah as bids from local players offset capital inflows to local bond market. The greenback was closed at 9,134 on Wednesday.
