TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – An acrobatic troupe from the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts will perform at Taiwan Day celebrations in Auckland according to New Zealand’s local media Stuff.co.
The acrobatic troupe will perform each day for a total of 45 minutes during this weekend. Various groups based in Taiwan as well as New Zealand will come together to introduce the island’s culture, food and tradition to the visitors.
“They're well-trained professional artists; their performances are fun to watch and full of cultural characteristics," said the organizer of the event, Stella Lu, as quoted by the Stuff.co.
While the event is seen as a fun cultural weekend event, the organizers also feel it is another way for visitors and vendors who set up stalls during the event to build relationships and hatch new market ideas or business plans.
The same event last year saw 10,000 people attending to enjoy the vibrant performances and delicious Taiwanese cuisine. The organizers claim they have learnt much from the event last year and have made the necessary changes in order to attract more visitors this year.
The Taiwan Day will be celebrated on September 9 and 10 from 10 am to 6 pm at Aotea Square, Auckland, New Zealand. The event boasts free entry for all visitors.
Taiwan and New Zealand have enjoyed years of good relations and the organizers of the event feel it will not only help all communities explore more about Taiwan but also build more bonds of understanding and friendship between the communities.
