TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – An Indian food and cultural festival will be held in Taipei from Aug 25 to September 3, 2017.
The event will be held at the Grand Hotel (圓山大飯店) in Zhongshan District and will include some of the most delicious and well-known Indian dishes as well as Indian folk dance.
The event will feature delicious Indian snacks and traditional dishes prepared by chefs who specially flew to Taiwan for this occasion from Taj Hotel Group, which is a “Heritage Grand” class five star hotel and chain resorts in India.
Taj Hotel Group is recognized for its distinctive approach to hospitality and excellence in leisure facilities in all its branches around the globe.
The event also boasts traditional folk dance performances by The Lomnath Kalbeliya and Party Group. The group is led by Mr Lomnath himself and consists of eight members who perform Kalbelia folk songs and dances of Rajasthan, a western state of India.
The Kalbeliya songs disseminate mythological knowledge through stories. The songs also demonstrate the poetic acumen of the Kalbelia, who are reputed to compose lyrics spontaneously and improvise songs during performances. Passed over from generation to generation, the songs and dances form part of an oral tradition for which no texts or training manuals exist.
