TAPEI (Taiwan News) -- Taiwanese-American television personality and host of the Discovery Travel and Living Channel's (TLC) series "Fun Taiwan,"Janet Hsieh (謝怡芬) on a Facebook post uploaded on Sunday asked her fans to guess the gender of her baby based on the shape and position of her belly and other Taiwanese superstitions.

In her Facebook post, which already has 10,000 likes and 352 comments, Hsieh asks her fans to guess the gender of her baby at the 33 week mark, based on a photo of her bare belly uploaded to the social media platform.

The 37-year-old Taiwanese-American TV host, violinist and model, who married English Eurasian actor, presenter and writer George Young in 2015, is expecting her first child and posed the following questions about the gender of her baby based on Taiwanese folklore:

"End of week 33... time to start taking bets. What do you think? BOY or GIRL?

Apparently, if you're carrying low, it's a boy (everybody says I'm very low)

If you have a pointed stomach, it's a boy. Rounded stomach, it's a girl.

If you're craving sweets, it's a girl.

If you're craving sour or salty, it's a boy. (I'm craving everything. Haha!)

If you're breaking out a lot, it's a girl. (Hmm... my skin is pretty clear..)

If you've been really nauseous first trimester, it's a girl (Well, i didn't throw up first trimester, but neither did my mom and she had two girls...)

Soooooo... any guesses?! "

Due to the deeply ingrained belief that a low and pointed stomach are sure signs of having a boy in Taiwanese culture, the majority of fans voted that it would be a boy.

Many fans then submitted varying opinions:

"Before I was pregnant with my son, I liked to eat vinegar with noodles, but when I was pregnant with him, just smelling vinegar made me sick. Instead, I only wanted to eat sweet things, and didn't dare eat sour things. After I gave birth, I went back to eating sour things again. When I was pregnant with my daughter I ate everything. When I was pregnant with my son, my belly was very pointed, people could not tell that I was pregnant from behind, but when I was carrying my daughter, my belly was very rounded."

"Both of my babies were girls. My belle was low with the navel protruding. My belly was low and everyone predicted a boy. I liked to eat salad, especially with really salty dressing. My skin and hair was always good throughout the pregnancies. I didn't have morning sickness, only some nausea later on in the mornings."

"Both times I was pregnant my belly was high, but both turned out to be boys."

"Round or pointed, cravings vary, just looking at the mom's appearance, hormonal influence... because I had two boys and a girl, my belly was the same shape, my skin was the same, and my cravings were the same for all three... but a healthy and peaceful mother and baby is all that matters, good luck!

"Boy or girl doesn't matter. As long as the baby is born healthy. This is very important for the parents since it is 1st child."
