TAIPEI (Taiwan News)--Fried potatoes of Taiwan's Mos Burger were removed for the second time in four years.

Mos Burger announced on Tuesday that fried potatoes are no longer available to the customers, after authorities ordered the fast food chain to remove their half-frozen potatoes due to safety reasons.

On Monday, a customer complained about his potatoes having green skin. Green potatoes contain solanine, a natural toxin that causes nausea, vomiting and headaches.

This is the second time the company was required to remove the same dish in the past four years.

In 2013, Mos Burger served green potatoes to customers who reported feeling nauseous after eating the dish.

Half-frozen potatoes with green skin were found in three Mos Burger restaurants in Tainan City in southern Taiwan, according to Tainan's Public Health Bureau.

These questionable potatoes were imported from the Unites States. And vendors can be fined between NT$30,000 (US$993.5) and NT$3 million if caught selling these health-threatening potatoes to consumers, the bureau said.
