TAIPEI (Taiwan News) ---The Taipei Universiade opening ceremony rehearsal was held on Saturday to simulate the gathering of a total of 12,000 people expected to attend the event that will take place in Taipei Stadium on Aug 19.
Although this was just a ceremony rehearsal, the place was full of people anticipating the event.
International University Sports Federation (FISU) Summer Universiade Director Marc Vandenplas expressed confidence that the upcoming event will be a success. The athletes’ village planning and designing program has been handled closely by Taipei representatives and FISU, a good example of cooperation, he said.
The opening ceremony team rehearsed the opening presentation, delegation admission, three cultural performances, and three other shows.
The practice examined the preparedness and efficacy of administrative procedures, security capabilities and traffic flow for the upcoming event.
