TAIPEI (Taiwan News)— A 5.8 magnitude earthquake jolted Taiwan near Yilan County at 7:20 p.m. on Friday.
The quake's epicenter was east southeast of Yilan in the sea. It took place at a depth of 47.8 km. The strongest intensity was 2 in Yilan's Niumen, it was also 2 on Orchid Island. Changhua's Ershui also experienced intensity of 2. Yilan City, Hualien's Taroko, New Taipei City's Wufen Mountain and Hsinchu County all experienced an intensity of 1.
Any casualties have not yet been reported.
