TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — There are events and activities aplenty around Taipei for the weekend of August 4-6.
Weekend Festivals
The Taiwan Adult Expo 6 is on this Friday through Sunday at the Taiwan World Trade Center Building 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Festival goers must be 18 or older. Tickets are available for NT$700 (US$23) at the door.
The Simple Rock Music Festival is back at the Yuanshan Exhibition Park this Saturday and Sunday. The Festival is a celebration of Taiwan's indie, metal, and rock music. Early bird tickets are sold out but single days tickets can be bought at the door for NT$800.
The Hsinchu Hot Air Balloon Festival has been rescheduled to this Saturday and Sunday at the Qingqing Grasslands. Free rides on the four hot air balloons will be split between morning and afternoon sessions, with about 350 passengers for the morning session between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., and 200 riders for the afternoon session from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Art
Just back from their European-American tour, three local musicians will present jazz piano at the Wenshui Arts and Cultural Center this Saturday. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are NT$600.
Yiamas Greeka Taverna will offer a special dinner and drink menu this Saturday night for the Republic of Comedy's special Dinner and a Show Comedy performance. Tickets are NT$350 and include a drink. The show begins at 8:30 p.m.
Pon ding art space presents Ezter Chen's solo exhibition, The Idler's Hasty Gaze, this Friday through Sunday. The opening party is Saturday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Film
For the fourth installment of Barber Cinema, Sculptor Barber hair salon will screen two mobster films this Saturday night starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are NT$300 and include a beverage.
