TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A delegation from Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan visited Luke Air Force Base (Luke AFB) in Arizona on Tuesday and met with US representative Trent Franks.
The delegation also met with Republic of China (Taiwan) Air Force pilots receiving training at Luke AFB.
According to a Facebook post by Legislator Tsai Shih-ying (蔡適應), the delegation consisted of members of the Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee. The meeting also includes discussions about ways to improve bilateral military cooperation and the importance of such cooperation to Taiwan’s security.
The delegation also met with the trainees of the 21st Fighter Squadron which is part of the 56th operations group at Luke AFB. The group also operates F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft, which is used to conduct advanced fighter training for the ROC pilots.
The delegation will next visit the US Pacific Command (PACOM) in Hawaii.
