TAIPEI (Taiwan News) --- A northern Puyuma Express train was delayed for 33 minutes after striking an unknown object, affecting about 1,660 passengers, the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) said
The incident happened at 10:43 a.m. Monday while the train was between the Xiangshan and Hsinchu stations, forcing the next train to go back the station and restart services half an hour later.
Nobody was reported injured even though reporters received text messages from the TRA referring to the accident as a "death or injury."
The train departed at 11:16 a.m. and arrived at Hsinchu station at 11:21 a.m., 41 minutes after its scheduled arrival time. Train services went back to normal at 11:17 a.m., according to the TRA .
The police inspected the area but no victims or objects were found near the railway. The cause of the delay is still not clear.
