TAIPEI (Taiwan News) -- The body of a Vietnamese caregiver was found dead by firefighters after they extinguished a massive blaze in Yilan on Monday.
The fire was reported at a private residence nearby Yuanshan village in Yilan early this morning. After 10 minutes, firefighters arrived at the scene and took control of the situation. At around 8.10 a.m, the fire was completely extinguished.
After the fire had been brought under control, police entered the house and found the dead body of a woman lying on the second floor.
According to local authorities, the body was first identified as an Indonesian caregiver. Later on, the landlord determined that the deceased was a divorced Vietnamese woman, who worked as a caregiver at Taipei Veterans General Hospital - Yuanshan Branch and she also held a Taiwanese passport.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, said the Yilan Firefighter Department.
