AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A funeral for the American tourist who was fatally beaten in Greece is taking place in his hometown of Austin, Texas.
KXAN television in Austin reports (http://bit.ly/2tfn2W6 ) that the service for 22-year-old Bakari Henderson will take place Saturday at a Baptist church.
Greek police say Henderson was beaten to death outside a bar July 7 on the Greek island of Zakynthos. His family said in a news release that he was in Greece working on a photo shoot to launch a clothing line.
Also Saturday, the last of nine suspects charged in Henderson's death was scheduled to appear in court over whether he will be held in custody. The 33-year-old Serbian man is among nine people, aged between 18 and 34, charged in the fatal beating.
