The Ministry of Culture introduced endemic species on its website to celebrate Earth Day

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A Taiwan blue magpie is spotted fluttering its wings in the sky. To celebrate Earth day, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) posted several photos of species in Taiwan on its official Twitter account on April 22.

According to the MOC, Taiwan is home to over 150,000 tropical, subtropical & temperate species. The Taiwan blue magpie is not only endemic to Taiwan, but is also the national bird of Taiwan. Other endemic species such as Formosan sika deer and the colorful sea slug Tambja sagamiana were also featured on the website, showcasing the biodiversity of Taiwan.
