With Thanksgiving passed, Christmas cheer has quickly filled the winter air. To help you celebrate the holidays, Taiwan News has found three authentic foreign restaurants with fun events and seasonal cuisine that you won't want to miss.
Nestled in a neighboring lane of Yong Kang Street, the must visit destination for all travelers to Taipei City, O'Steak Taipei French bistro is offering customers Taipei's most authentic French Christmas experience.
This Christmas, O'Steak Taipei will be providing Christmas specials for two persons for lunch and dinner on Christmas and New Year's Eve, with a gift exchange activity that invites all customers to share in the Christmas spirit together.
As a cherished holiday ritual, Christmas tree decorations have evolved into fantastic displays of creativity. In the spirit of this long-held tradition, O’steak Taipei has given a subtle nod to its French roots by preparing a wine bottle Christmas tree.
The restaurant’s regular menu will be suspended on Christmas and New Year’s Eve while the special is served exclusively. The Christmas special menu is also available from December 24-31, to guests who reserve in advance.
Much like Taiwan’s celebration of the lunar New Year, Christmas in Italy is a day for family reunions and grand feasts. DiVino will be open for both Christmas and New Year's Eve this year, serving two special holiday menus and offering 10%-15% off on select wines.
Panettone, a special cake prepared during Christmas and New Year in Italy, will also be served.
To ensure everything served at DiVino is of the finest quality, Chef Enrico Negrini visits markets to purchase the freshest and the best ingredients and personally inspects the ingredients every morning. Even more remarkable, everything in the restaurant is handmade, from the main course to the dessert, and from hand-dried Salami to Italian lemon liqueur limoncello.
So if you're craving for some high-quality Italian food, DiVino will bring you all that is heavenly in food and wine.
If you are looking for nice North American food, look no further. After its Thanksgiving special, Whalen's is holding an RSVP Christmas dinner event which will require a NT$500 deposit per person in advance. The deposit will be returned in full on the event day.
For those who enjoyed Whalen’s Thanksgiving dinner, the restaurant’s Christmas dinner will serve a similar menu, with turkey, honey glazed ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, potato gravy, turkey gravy, cobbed corn and asparagus as main course.
The Canadian restaurant is known for its authentic North American breakfast. The food comes in big portions for reasonable prices and is famous among both local Taiwanese and North American expats.
