Double-decker tour bus to be launched in Kaohsiung by year-end
Taiwan's first double-decker tour bus service will be launched in Kaohsiung by the end of this year, according to the Kaohsiung city government's Transportation Bureau.

The city government has ordered two double-decker tour buses for the new service. The vehicles will become new mobile landmarks in the southern port city, the bureau said.

The new buses, which will each have one docent and will offer a multilingual portable audio tour guide service to passengers, will have 44 seats on the upper floor and 10 seats on the bottom floor, it added.

The buses will operate two routes -- east-west and north-south -- taking passengers to tourist attractions located around the city, the bureau said.

According to a preliminary calculation, a one-day ticket for the new service will be priced at NT$300 (US$9.40), with each trip taking around 40 minutes.
