Traffic control in Zhuzihu to be imposed during calla lily festival

Taipei, March 16 (CNA) The Department of Transportation of Taipei City government announced on Wednesday that a traffic control will be put in force from March 18 to April 17 in Zhuzihu, the Yangmingshan National Park, during the annual Festival of Calla Lily to be held there.

The traffic control will be implemented from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays during the festival, with principal roads in affected areas to be changed into one-way streets, the municipal agency said.

The department suggested that visitors take bus services to avoid traffic jams when trying to travel in and out of the festival venue located in the mountainous area in northern Taipei.

The festival, with the participation of some 30 calla lily farms that cover around 13 hectares, is expected to attract tens of thousands tourists who will enjoy picking calla lilies on the farms. (By Huang Li-yun and Romulo Huang)
