Taiwan will hold an exhibition to showcase 60 treasures from the Holy See from Feb. 5-May 2 in Taipei, the Foreign Ministry said Monday.
The exhibition will display for the first time in Taiwan the culture and history of the world's largest Christian church, which has had a vast influence on the world over the centuries, according to the ministry.
A total of 60 artifacts from the Holy See are scheduled to be displayed, along with 10 historical documents from the museum's collection, said the National Palace Museum, which is organizing the event.
Among the artifacts are vestments, tiaras and ritual objects used by popes over the ages, according to the museum.
A banquet will be held Feb. 4 to inaugurate the event and celebrate the diplomatic ties between Taiwan and the Holy See, the ministry said.
