CAL, PAL reach code-sharing deal for Taoyuan-Manila route

Starting this month, people traveling between Taipei and Manila have more flexible choice of flights as Taiwan's largest air carrier China Airlines (CAL) and the Philippine Airlines (PAL) have reached a code-sharing agreement.

CAL said Tuesday that it started to operate the Taoyuan-Manila route in a code-sharing deal with Philippine Airline starting Dec. 1.

Under the deal, there are 21 flights per week with 5,300 seats. Passengers now have more flexible choices as there are flights in the morning, in the afternoon and at night.

CAL Chairman Sun Hung-hsiang also signed a letter of intention in Manila Monday on code-sharing with the Philippine Airlines for passenger and cargo flights. (By Wang Shu-fen and Lilian Wu)
