Celebrate festive holidays with Mandarin Oriental, Taipei

Ring the festival bells and usher in 2016 with various winter festivities prepared by Mandarin Oriental, Taipei. French Chef Florence Dalia from Café Un Deux Trois and Italian Chef Mario Cittadini from Bencotto are celebrating the holidays at the hotel with extraordinary European-style seasonal offerings. The chefs are rolling up their sleeves to indulge diners with the finest ingredients and sophisticated culinary skills for an unforgettable gastronomic feast. Contemporary French Brasserie – Café Un Deux Trois Helmed by Chef Florence Dalia, Café Un Deux Trois is inspired by brasseries along the famous Champs-Elysees with its refreshing and unique ambiance, combined with traditional French cuisine and the finest local ingredients. A semi-buffet Christmas lunch offering a variety of festive and classic dishes is available from 12–13, 19–20 and 26–27 December starting at 12 noon until 2:30pm, priced at TWD 1,980 per person. This semi-buffet Christmas feast offers seasonal Fine de Claire oysters and caviar, three traditional appetisers including house-smoked duck salad, candied pears, blue cheese from Auvergne, walnuts; Dough crust with medallion of foie gras, served with assorted pickles, onion jam and truffle-filled brie, mixed salad, truffle vinaigrette. Guests can also select a main course and soup from the menu. A wide range of main courses includes Half lobster with coral butter, roasted figs with verbena, and mashed potato-watercress salad; chicken breast with black truffle slices, creamy sauce, Brussels sprouts and sautéed seasonal mushrooms; wagyu beef fillet rolled in a brioche dough, apple and onion chutney, stewed red cabbage; roasted venison fillet, date coulis, celery puree, chestnut and sole fillet cooked in salted butter, clams in meuniere, baby potato with confit lemon, champagne sauce. More than 11 types of delicate and scrumptious French desserts are offered for a memorable holiday indulgence with your beloved family and friends. From 24–25 December 2015, Café Un Deux Trois offers a four-course Christmas set menu priced at TWD 2,500 per person and available for lunch and dinner. Chef Florence Dalia passionately prepares smoked salmon roll, artichoke soup and main course selections such as pan-seared scallops, Australian wagyu beef fillet and slow-roasted turkey. Le Chocolate Tart 68% with Tahitian vanilla ice cream and hazelnut crisps, as well as other delicious sweet treats, are offered to end your Christmas meal on an unforgettably high note. Italian-Style Festive Cuisine at Bencotto Italian restaurant Bencotto presents authentic festive gastronomy for guests to experience an Italian-style winter feast. From 24 to 26 December 2015, a five-course Christmas set menu, priced at TWD 2,800 per person, is available for lunch and dinner. Indulge in holiday memories that will last a lifetime with a series of delectable offerings including Spanish red prawns, burnt eggplant puree, pizzaiola sauce; Valle d’Aosta traditional bread dumpling, porcini mushroom and fontina cheese fondue; Piedmont-style ravioli filled with roasted meat, roasting meat juices; Modena’s stuffed pork trotter, roasted salsify, pearl onion; dark, milk and white chocolate surprises; and a fine selection of Italian petits fours. In addition, from 31 December 2015 to 1 January 2016, Bencotto offers a tempting six-course New Year’s dinner menu featuring Boston lobster salad, cauliflower and oscietra caviar; slow-cooked Iberico pork belly, bell pepper and alici; Acquerello risotto special selection, 24-month aged Parmesan, festive Zampone pork trotter; roasted Australian wagyu beef fillet, foie gras sauce, braised salsify; Perbellini panettone cremaux, dark chocolate rocks, espresso crumble and other exotically exquisite Italian petits fours to delight your senses as you celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. For the New Year, Café Un Deux Trois offers a six-course New Year’s Eve dinner set menu priced at TWD 3,600 per person on 31 December 2015 and 1 January 2016. Mouth-watering appetisers include Fine de Claire No.2 with caviar jelly, poached foie gras and truffle with smoked haddock. For main course options, guests can choose from wagyu beef fillet or roasted turbot. Two symphonies of desserts featuring vanilla espuma, Taiwanese strawberry compote, meringue or Champagne mousse, yuzu gel and ponkan sorbet spoil guests as they welcome a brand-new year. Elegant Classic English Christmas Afternoon Tea at The Jade Lounge The Jade Lounge is highly acclaimed for its elegant traditional English afternoon tea among the elite and socialites in Taipei. From 23–27 December, The Jade Lounge is delighted to present English Christmas afternoon tea featuring exquisite cinnamon with cherry choux puff, orange macaroons and ginger chocolate as well as other Christmas delicacies paired with French Kusmi tea to delight guests during the most joyful time of the year. Luxuriously Exquisite Christmas Hampers at The Mandarin Cake Shop A wide variety of Christmas pastries and desserts have been specially designed by chefs at Mandarin Oriental, Taipei to bring you innovative and classic gifting choices such as Santa hat, limited-edition festive gateaux de voyage, Christmas stollen and buche de noel. The Mandarin Cake Shop has also prepared Christmas pastries and festive hampers priced at TWD 7,880, which include specially designed macaroons, Christmas dragees, Christmas jam, Christmas stollen as well as a bottle of selected Italian wine for you to surprise your family and friends with the most luxurious hamper of the year. Casino Night Countdown Party at M.O. Bar To welcome 2016, M.O. Bar presents a royal countdown party on 31 December 2015, with live band performance, roulette tables, magicians with fascinating card tricks, a series of lucky draws as well as a variety of cocktails created by our award-winning bartender to make sure you enjoy the most amazing countdown party!
