QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand (AP) -- Sri Lanka struggled with both bat and ball Friday in a three-day cricket tour match against a New Zealand President's XI at the Queenstown Events Center.
In the warm up for the first test against New Zealand starting next Thursday, Sri Lanka made 193 in its first innings, 95 runs behind the President's XI with 288-7 at stumps.
Dimuth Karunaratne scored 93 in Sri Lanka's first innings. Seamer Neil Wagner, who has a chance of playing for New Zealand in the first test at Dunedin, took 3-31 for the President's XI.
Bharat Popli scored 79 and Ben Smith made 81 in a 179-run first-wicket partnership for the President's XI.
Sri Lanka used nine bowlers with Dusmantha Chameera returning figures of 3-52.
