Grand Hyatt Taipei lights up its first outdoor Christmas tree

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Grand Hyatt Taipei and the start of the Christmas season, for the first time Grand Hyatt Taipei hosted its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony outside, at the hotel’s exterior fountain on Friday.

This year Grand Hyatt Taipei is presenting a brand new tree with a “loving is giving” concept. This 6m (19.6 ft) tree is built with gift boxes and LED lights in the hotel’s brand colors of white and red, a perfect combination for the festive season.

Every year, Grand Hyatt Taipei’s Christmas tree draws a lot of attention when guests enter the lobby. However, for the first time in twenty-five years, the hotel will showcase its Christmas tree outside, adding extra brightness to the hotel’s front on Song So Road, and allowing the public to experience a touch of Christmas ambience when they walk past. Moreover, to add more festive atmosphere, a Santa Claus with a sleigh and reindeers will be placed alongside the tree.

As in years past, the hotel announced its annual charity event during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. This year Grand Hyatt Taipei will continue to support two charity foundations - the Taiwan Foundation of Rare Disorders (TFRD) and the Harmony Home Association, which support children born with AIDS and rare diseases.

A specially designed donation envelope will be placed in all guestrooms and in the hotel’s restaurants, and from 4 December through 31 December - guests are cordially invited to contribute to these worthy causes and help children in need.
