TROYES, France (AP) -- Bottom side Troyes has parted with coach Jean-Marc Furlan after the French league club slumped to an 11th loss this season.
After 16 league games, Troyes remains winless at the bottom of the standings with just five points.
Troyes lost a crucial game in the fight against relegation on Wednesday, losing 3-0 at home against 19th-place Toulouse.
The club is 13 points from safety, and said in a statement the decision to terminate Furlan's contract "has the sole goal of revitalizing the group."
Furlan, who led Troyes to the topflight last season, was appointed in 2010 after a previous stint at the club from 2004-07.
