Cold front forecast to move into northern Taiwan Wednesday

Taipei, Nov. 23 (CNA) Temperatures in northern Taiwan are expected to dip to as low as 13 degrees Celsius later this week as the strongest cold air mass since the start of autumn descends on the country, the Central Weather Bureau said Monday.

The cold air from the north will begin to affect Taiwan Wednesday, with temperatures in northern Taiwan falling to lows of 15 to 13 degrees late Thursday and early Friday, the bureau said.

Rain is also expected in northern Taiwan on Wednesday but is forecast to stop by Friday, which will be cold and dry, before the weather warms up again, the bureau said.

By Saturday, highs of 25 degrees and over will return and the weather will be clear and stable, the CWB said.

It said the cold air mass will not affect central and southern Taiwan much, except for some big fluctuations in daytime and nighttime temperatures. (By Chen Wei-ting and Jay Chen)
