DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) -- Syria's state news agency says a cameraman for the media arm of Lebanon's militant Hezbollah group was killed while covering fighting in northern Syria.
SANA reported that Mohammed Mahmoud Nazar was killed Sunday while covering an offensive by Syrian troops and Hezbollah fighters against insurgents south of the northern city of Aleppo. Hezbollah sent thousands of fighters to Syria to back President Bashar Assad's forces.
Hezbollah's Military Media embeds staff with fighters in battles and releases exclusive reports, videos and photos.
In April last year, three members of a television crew working with the Hezbollah-owned Al-Manar TV were killed when their car came under a hail of bullets near the capital, Damascus.
Nazar was buried in his hometown of Arab Salim in southern Lebanon on Monday afternoon.
