Women's Australian Open moves to Adelaide from 2016

ADELAIDE, Australia (AP) -- The Women's Australian Open will be played at the Grange Golf Club next February and will remain in Adelaide at least until 2018.

The $1.3 million event will be staged Feb. 18-21 on the Grange's West Course, the first tournament on the LPGA's Asia-Pacific swing in 2016.

LPGA commissioner Mike Whan says the players "love heading Down Under and Adelaide's wonderful courses will no doubt be great tests for the world's best players."

The tournament, a tri-sanctioned event between the LPGA Tour, European and Australian tours, will be held at Royal Adelaide in 2017 and at Kooyonga in 2018.
