Entourage of six to accompany Ma in meeting with Xi Jinping

Taipei, Nov. 4 (CNA) President Ma Ying-jeou (???) will be accompanied by an entourage of six, including national security advisors and mainland affairs officials, at the scheduled meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping (???) in Singapore on Saturday. Presidential Office Secretary-General Tseng Yung-chuan (???), Deputy Secretary-General Hsiao Hsu-tsen(???), Secretary-General of the National Security Council Kao Hua-chu (???), National Security Advisor Chiu Kun-shuan (???), and Minister Hsia Li-yan (???) and Deputy Minister Wu Mei-hung (???) of the Mainland Affairs Council will attend the cross-strait summit. President Ma and his entourage will leave for Singapore Saturday morning. After the meeting in the afternoon, Ma and Xi will give separate press conferences, according to Presidential Office spokesman Chen Yi-hsin (???). Chen earlier told the press that the summit is aimed at consolidating cross-strait peace and maintaining the status quo. No agreement will be signed and no joint statement will be issued, he added.
