NEW YORK (AP) -- CNBC has reached 14 million viewers with its telecast of the third Republican presidential debate. That's down from the audience for the first two debates on Fox News Channel and CNN, but still set a viewership record for the financial cable network.
The debate was still being talked about Thursday, and not necessarily in a good way. Republican leaders criticized Wednesday night's debate moderators for being too negative.
The Nielsen company said Fox News Channel reached 24 million viewers for its first GOP debate, and CNN followed that up several weeks later with about 23 million. The CNBC debate competed against Game Two of the World Series.
