New Taipei to expect 42-hour water disruption beginning Saturday

Water disruption for New Taipei on Sat.

The New Taipei City government’s Water Resources Department warned residents in Banciao district and the greater Taipei area to store water in advance as supplies will be disrupted beginning Saturday, reports said Thursday. The water suspension will be carried out to make way for the installation of new transmission tower cables and other related equipment by Taiwan Power Co (Taipower) in Banciao, a process that will disrupt the district’s water grid as distributing pumps will be temporarily shut down. Beginning Saturday at 7 a.m. through Sunday morning at 8, water supplies will be cut off for 25 hours in the districts of Yingge, Shulin, Taishan, Sanxia (excluding Henxi and Chenfu Communities) Hsinchuang, Wugu (partial areas), and Banciao’s Xicun Community. Areas to be affected for 42 hours will include parts of Tuchen and Sanxia, including section 3 of Xieshou Road, Henxi Road, Xibei North Street, Xitung East Road, Chenfu Road, Ziwei and Chuken Roads. Water will still be available to residents living in the areas around Hsinchuang’s Fu-Hsing Li and Banciao’s Fu-Chung Roadm, but are advised on low pressure supply. The city’s water department cautioned residents affected by the disruption to turn off water pumps in their apartment.
