U.S. astronaut in space tweets about Typhoon Dujuan

Taipei, Sept. 28 (CNA) A U.S. astronaut on the International Space Station tweeted good wishes for the safety of Taiwan residents on Sept. 25, as Typhoon Dujuan bore down on Taiwan with powerful winds and heavy rains. Kjell Lindgren, who was born in Taipei, posted a photo of Dujuan taken from the space station, with the words "Typhoon #Dujuan, east of Taiwan, Stay safe friends!" Dujuan was expected to make landfall in Yilan or Hualien between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Monday, according to Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau (CWB). The CWB said a super flood tide that is expected Monday night, coupled with Dujuan's storm surge, may cause flooding in low-lying areas along the shoreline and rivers of western Taiwan.
