LONDON (AP) -- Kevin Pietersen says England's Ashes triumph shows Andrew Strauss was right to drop him ahead of the Australia series.
England's director of cricket dumped the big-hitting, maverick batsman over a "massive trust issue" which threatened team harmony.
Speaking a month after England regained the Ashes urn, Pietersen said: "Absolutely it seems to be the right decision at the moment."
At a Sport Industry Group breakfast in London, Pietersen added that "some of the stuff (Strauss) has done with the England team and getting past players into the dressing room is brilliant."
The 3-2 victory over Australia appears to have ended any hopes England's all-time leading run-scorer across all formats had of returning to the international scene. Instead the South African-born player is focused on Twenty20.
