LONDON (AP) -- Georgia scrumhalf Vasil Lobzhanidze will become the youngest player in Rugby World Cup history after being selected in the team to play Tonga on Saturday.

The 18-year-old Lobzhanidze will beat the record currently held by American Thretton Palamo, who played his one and only World Cup match against South Africa in 2007 at age 19 years, 8 days.

Lobzhanidze won't turn 19 until mid-October.

Georgia plays Tonga in Gloucester in Pool C in the first of four matches on Day 2 of the tournament.
