MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Tina Charles had 18 points and 14 rebounds, and Sugar Rodgers hit a pair of free throws with 12.0 seconds left as the New York Liberty clinched the top seed in the East with a 75-71 victory over the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday night.

In a matchup of the WNBA's top teams, the Liberty (22-9) earned the No. 1 spot in the Eastern Conference for the first time since 2002 and tied a season record for wins the franchise set in 2010.

The Liberty also moved 1? games ahead of the Lynx (21-11) in the race for home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

New York took the lead for good during a 20-4 run midway through the third quarter. Minnesota pulled within 69-68 with 5:50 left but turned it over on five of its last eight possessions, including Rodgers' steal on the final possession to seal the win.

Maya Moore led the Lynx with 23 points.

SPARKS 92, SHOCK 73

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Candace Parker scored a season-high 33 points and Nneka Ogwumike added 26 to help the Sparks clinch the final playoff spot in the Western Conference by beating the Shock.

Parker added eight rebounds and five assists while Ogwumike finished with nine rebounds and three steals. Jantel Lavender had 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks for Los Angeles (14-18).

The Sparks took a 39-27 lead into halftime and led by double digits for most of the second half until a 10-0 run by Tulsa (16-15) cut its deficit to 74-70 when Plenette Pierson hit a 3-pointer with 5:56 to play.

Ana Dabovic scored all 10 of her points from there as Los Angeles closed the game with an 18-3 run.

Los Angeles has won three in a row and six of its last seven.

Pierson and Odyssey Sims scored 21 apiece for Tulsa, which had its six game win streak snapped.

SKY 93, STORM 65

ROSEMONT, Illinois (AP) -- Allie Quigley scored 17 points and Elena Delle Donne reached 1,500 career points as the Sky beat the Storm.

The Sky (20-12) moved a step closer to securing home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs and eliminated the Storm (9-22) from playoff contention.

Jamierra Faulkner added 14 points and Delle Donne scored 13. Her 1,500th point came on the second of a pair of free throws that made it 47-27 with 2:55 left in the first half.

Courtney Vandersloot scored six of her 10 points as Chicago opened the game with a 16-0 run. Seattle cut the deficit to six early in the second quarter, but the Sky pulled away again and were never threatened from there.

Jewell Loyd led the Storm with 21 points in her return to her hometown. Jenna O'Hea added 13 points and Crystal Langhorne scored 12.

DREAM 73, MYSTICS 67

ATLANTA (AP) -- Angel McCoughtry scored 18, Tiffany Hayes added 17 and Sancho Lyttle finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to help the Dream keep their slim playoff hopes alive and beat the Mystics.

Atlanta (13-18) trails the Mystics (16-15) by three games with three games remaining. The Dream holds the tie-breaker, leading the season series 3-0. The teams will play in Atlanta on Sept. 13 to conclude the regular season.

Hayes hit back-to-back 3-pointers to spark an 11-1 run that pushed Atlanta's lead to 53-38 with 6 minutes left in the third quarter.

Ivory Latta scored six during an 8-1 spurt that pulled the Mystics within five, 66-61, with 1:22 remaining, but McCoughtry converted a three-point play 22 seconds later and Washington trailed by at least two possessions the rest of the way.

Latta led the Mystics with 22 points while Emma Meesseman scored 15.
