Top Argentine presidential candidates talk about economy

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) -- Argentina's top presidential candidates are giving different visions of how to improve the South American nation's economy at a time of high inflation and a sharp devaluation of the peso.

Ruling party candidate Daniel Scioli says the country needs to increase production of its top commodities, but also argues there should not be big changes to the economy.

Opposition candidates Mauricio Macri and Sergio Massa are calling for more transparency about government spending and how economic statistics are gathered.

All three spoke Wednesday to the members of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce in Buenos Aires.
