NEW YORK (AP) -- Longtime NBC News correspondent Jamie Gangel is coming out of retirement to join CNN.
Gangel spent 30 years at NBC, before leaving in 2013. She was national correspondent for the "Today" show, where she worked with current CNN chief executive Jeff Zucker, who was once that show's executive producer.
Gangel said Monday that she enjoyed the time off but that "in the end I missed doing interviews, covering politics and the lure of the presidential campaign."
Zucker said Gangel will be a special correspondent available to all of CNN's programs.
