Airlines announce flight adjustments due to typhoon

Taipei, Aug. 6 (CNA) Local airlines said Thursday they will reschedule several flights due to Typhoon Soudelor on Friday, which is expected to bring heavy rainfall and strong gusts. EVA Airways said its flight BR315 from Taoyuan to Brisbane will depart ahead of schedule at 9 p.m., while flights BR10 from Taoyuan to Vancouver, BR26 from Taoyuan to Seattle and BR87 from Taoyuan to Paris will all depart earlier, at 10 p.m. Its flights BR16 from Taoyuan to Los Angeles and BR28 from Taoyuan to San Fransisco will also be rescheduled to 10:30 p.m., the carrier said. UNI Air said all its domestic flights between Taipei Songshan and Taitung after noon will be canceled. The airline said all its flights from Taiwan proper to the country's outlying islands after 3:30 p.m. will be canceled, except for flight B7-877 from Kaohsiung to Kinmen, which will depart at 3:20 p.m. instead. No flight adjustments have been announced yet by China Airlines and TransAsia Airways. (By Lee Hsin-Yin)
