PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A Chinese citizen who lives in Pennsylvania is scheduled to plead guilty to charges she took an English-language fluency test and a college entrance exam for another Chinese woman now enrolled at Virginia Tech university.
Yunlin Sun, 24, was one of 15 Chinese citizens indicted in May. Federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh allege they scammed tests for more than $5,000 per exam.
Some of those indicted are students at U.S. schools who paid to have others take the tests in the Pittsburgh area since 2011. Others, like Sun, are accused of impersonating students and taking the tests for them.
Sun's attorney previously said she'd "contest" the allegations. He couldn't immediately be reached Monday.
