Taiwanese player wins online card game tournament in Finland

Taipei, Aug. 3 (CNA) Taiwanese online gamer Chen Wei-lin won the ASUS ROG Summer 2015 Hearthstone Tournament in Helsinki, Finland Saturday (Finland time), becoming the first ever Taiwanese to win the tournament.
Chen defeated a Swedish player with the Internet handle Powder in the final to grab the title of the tournament, which was held July 30-Aug. 1 at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, by Blizzard Entertainment, is a popular online strategy card game played between two opponents.
A total of 32 players participated in the Helsinki tournament, which had a US$25,000 prize pool.
Chen, who played under the handle tom60229, received US$10,000 and 100 Hearthstone World Championship points for his victory.
He belongs to the Taiwanese team YoeFlashWolves (yoeFW), which is sponsored by Wanin International of Taiwan. (By Lo Hsiu-wen and Christie Chen)
