Most flights to and from Taipei Songshan Airport to be canceled

Taipei, July 9 (CNA)
Most domestic flights scheduled to depart from or arrive at Taipei Songshan Airport will be canceled on Friday as Taiwan is expected to be hit by strong winds and heavy rain from Typhoon Chan-hom.
Several local carriers have canceled or rescheduled their flights.
TransAsia Airways and Mandarin Airlines said all their flights connecting Taipei will be canceled on Friday, while Uni Air said all its flights to and from Taipei before noon will be canceled.
The center of Chan-hom, a moderate typhoon, is expected to pass over the waters north of Taiwan Friday afternoon before heading toward China, according to the Central Weather Bureau.
Another Taiwanese carrier, Far Eastern Air Transport, said its flights connecting Taipei will be canceled--except for flights FE021 and FE061, which will operate normally.
The flights which will operate normally are scheduled to fly before the typhoon passes by Taiwan.
Still some other flights to and from other cities in Taiwan are affected by the typhoon as well.
