Taiwanese airlines announce flight adjustments on Friday due to typhoon

Taipei, July 9 (CNA) Major Taiwanese airlines on Thursday announced flight adjustments for the following day in anticipation of strong winds and heavy rain brought by Typhoon Chan-hom. China Airlines said its flights CI678 from Hong Kong to Taipei, CI641 from Taipei to Hong Kong and CI642 from Hong Kong to Taipei will be canceled. Its flight CI903 from Taipei to Hong Kong will depart ahead of schedule at 7:45 p.m., while flight CI120 from Taipei to Okinawa will be delayed to 6:15 p.m. and flight CI121 from Okinawa to Taipei is to be delayed to 9:45 p.m. (local time). Mandarin Airlines said its services AE2282 from Taichung to Okinawa and AE2283 from Okinawa to Taichung will be canceled. EVA Airways said its flights BR186/BR185 on the Taipei-Okinawa route will be canceled, with its flight BR112 from Taipei to Okinawa postponed to 8:15 a.m., and flight BR113 from Okinawa to Taipei postponed to 12:10 p.m. (local time). Its flight BR752 from Taipei to Shanghai will be delayed to 1:20 p.m. TransAsia Airways said its flights GE682/GE681 on the Taipei-Okinawa route will be canceled. On Chan-hom's current path, its center could pass over waters north of Taiwan on Friday before heading toward China, according to the CWB. (By Lee Hsin-Yin)
