Taipei mayor Ko to visit 2015 Gwangju Summer Games

Taipei, July 9 (CNA)
Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je will leave for South Korea on Sunday for a five-day visit, with his itinerary beginning at the 2015 Gwangju Universiade and ending in Seoul where he will view public housing and meet management of SM Entertainment.
Taipei City government spokesman Sidney Lin said Thursday that as Taipei City will host the 2017 Universiade, Mayor Ko will receive the flag of the world university games from the Gwangju sponsor at the closing ceremony on July 14. He is also invited to speak at the ceremony. He said that Mayor Ko will also give a reception that evening.
In Seoul, Ko and his entourage will stay overnight in the U-myeon public housing community to observe its planning and interior design. They will also visit the SM Entertainment to get insights into the success of the Korean entertainment company. (By L. Y. Huang and Lillian Lin)
