Water park victim expresses gratitude to supporters

Mo Tze-ching, a college freshman from Hong Kong who studies at Yuan Ze University, suffered burns to about 65 percent of her body from the June 27 water park blast. Mo received a sound-recording encouraging her to be brave and get well soon from Taiwan top singers Jay Chou and Ella, and she wrote down “Thank you for your encouragement” on a piece of paper today.

Mo and her classmate Chan are both staying at the intensive care unit, and their families and classmates remain at the hospital to keep them company 24/7 by turns. Upon learning that Mo’s favorite singers were Chou and Ella, Mo’s mother said that she hopes to receive recorded messages from them. The Mainland Affairs Council helped to contact their agents and got the recording.

According to close friends of Mo, after the surgery, they gave the sound recording to her, and she shed tears upon hearing her favorite idols' voice, and grabbed a pen to write down her gratitude.
